“Snowflake” was written by Hannes, once a “non-relationship” came to its conclusion at the end of a winter where the two had not seen each other for a while. The realization came during a walk along the Donaukanal, when she took a moment after the harmless smalltalk to tell him how it is. She had fallen for someone else and they were together. Upon reflection it wasn’t completely unexpected, after all the ground rules from the start were that they were not exclusive, she wasn’t looking for something monogamous, and if she were, it would have to be with someone that she’s so in love with that it all makes sense (and not with Hannes). The song attempts to capture the atmosphere of the clarifying walk along the canal, along with the realization of something you always knew.
